Recreation and Peer Support organises group social and recreational activities that enable friendship and peer support between our members, who are adults, aged 18 to 65, have a physical and/or sensory disability, and live in the inner-west suburbs of Sydney.
The activities take place in our local communities, and focus on friendship and social interaction among our members, staff, and volunteers. The activities are supported by raps staff members and volunteers, and include going to the movies, café nights, daytrips, ten pin bowling, DVD nights, and weekend activities. We hold quarterly activity planning BBQ’s to get feedback from our members and ensure that they are engaged in choosing the range of activities we offer.
raps is a not-for-profit organisation, which was started by people with a disability over 20 years ago. raps receives funding through the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program which is administered by the NSW Department of Ageing, Disability, and Home Care in NSW.
